We are looking for a skilled Technical Specialist in Propulsion Systems to join our team. In this position, you will lead the engineering, advisory, and developmental efforts related to propulsion systems and auxiliary mechanical components on ships. Your knowledge will be vital in shaping research, design, and project proposals, fostering advancements in these essential fields. As part of our esteemed team, you will work closely with experts to ensure system performance verification during key project phases.

Key Responsibilities

Directing the technical aspects of research, proposals, and engineering projects, providing innovative solutions for complex challenges and deliverables. Assisting in design reviews and validation tests to ensure compliance with specifications and standards. Actively participating in the ongoing enhancement and promotion of your expertise, championing innovation in the field. Producing high-quality engineering output within agreed timelines and budgets while adhering to all relevant requirements. Initiating continuous improvement efforts within the department, facilitating knowledge transfer and professional development.

Functie-eisen
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, coupled with at least five years of experience. Strong knowledge of propulsion systems and mechanical components, such as cooling and HVAC systems, ideally gained in naval project settings. A foundational understanding of maritime system dynamics and control systems. Experience in academic research and collaboration within the naval shipbuilding or related industries is preferred. Proficient command of both Dutch and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent references, as a pre-employment security screening is a standard part of the hiring process.

Important:

Permanent EU citizenship and a valid passport are required. Candidates holding only an NL/EU (work) visa or those with both EU and non-EU nationalities/passports are not eligible due to the military requirements of our projects.
