Functieomschrijving
The HSE Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and systems. They foster a culture of health and safety, driving initiatives to ensure a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, suppliers, and visitors. The role includes overseeing, advising, and reporting on all HSE-related matters.

Key Responsibilities As the HSE Officer, your core duties will involve:

 Coordinating HSE activities and advocating for a safety-conscious culture.  Engaging with external parties on HSE issues and ensuring adherence to relevant standards and regulations.  Creating and managing HSE systems, including policies and procedural guidelines.  Leading and supporting HSE audits, conducting risk assessments, and implementing mitigation strategies.  Offering HSE guidance to management to ensure compliance with legal and contractual obligations.  Supervising continuous improvement initiatives and managing records for health, environmental aspects, and hazardous materials.  Investigating incidents, maintaining documentation, and providing reports to relevant stakeholders.  Conducting training sessions and briefings to update staff on best practices and regulatory changes.  Providing mentorship and coaching to HSE Assistants.

Functie-eisen
 Over 5 years of experience in developing and enhancing HSE systems and working with stakeholders.  Proven experience in leading and managing HSE projects and delivering HSE training.  A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field.  In-depth knowledge of HSE management, systems, and principles.  A Diploma in ‘Hogere Veiligheidskunde’ (HVK) is preferable.  Strong references, as pre-employment security screening is part of the hiring process.  Permanent EU citizenship and passport are required. Candidates with EU (work) visas or dual nationality (EU and non-EU) are not eligible due to the security nature of the projects.
