As an interim Technical Author / Engineer for Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), you will take responsibility for projects within the ILS scope and related services for naval vessels. Your focus will be on initiatives aimed at improving availability and operational readiness while minimising life-cycle costs.
Role Overview In this position, you will analyse maintenance plans and tasks, review technical documentation (S1000D), and manage supply support, including special tools, test equipment, and training requirements. Collaboration with various internal disciplines will be essential to prepare and deliver ILS outputs. At times, your work will span a wide range of activities within the ILS domain. You will operate in multidisciplinary teams to develop and deliver ILS products on schedule, within budget, and in line with quality standards. Your efforts will ensure contractual ILS packages are met and customer satisfaction is achieved. Additionally, you will contribute to advancing the strategic roadmap for ILS technologies.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct ILS analyses such as Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) and other related topics. • Assess and report on the reliability and maintainability of naval systems and equipment. • Collaborate closely with design and technical teams, providing updates to the ILS Project Manager. • Develop ILS deliverables including procurement support, maintenance planning, LSA with RAM and LCC calculations, supply chain support, documentation, training, and technology transfer. • Ensure adherence to all applicable requirements set by the organisation and end-users. • Deliver ILS products and services within agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards. • Assist in drafting and reviewing sections of ILS proposals and contribute to improving ILS processes, products, and methodologies. • Prepare training materials for technical systems and naval products. • Create budgetary estimates and project cost calculations. • Review technical regulations and drawings relevant to each project.
Functie-eisen
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• Proven knowledge and hands-on experience in Integrated Logistics Support, including the development
and implementation of ILS packages within a technical or Ministry of Defence setting, or
alternatively, maintenance experience in an engineering environment.
• Ability to work effectively in diverse, multifunctional, and multicultural teams.
• Strong proficiency in both Dutch and English, written and spoken; additional languages such as German
or Spanish are considered an asset.
• Preferably, a background in naval operations or a strong affinity with maritime environments and culture.
• Excellent professional references, as a security clearance will be part of the recruitment process.
• Permanent EU citizenship and a valid EU passport are mandatory. Candidates holding an EU work visa
or possessing (also) a non-EU nationality and/or passport cannot be considered due to military
project requirements.
