Finance Manager (32-40 hours per week)

Following a retirement, we need a hands-on Finance Manager to join our senior team to run and lead our finance function, ensuring smooth daily operations, accurate reporting and strong financial control. The role is based at our offices in Bergen op Zoom (Netherlands), with flexibility to suit today’s working dynamics.

What you’ll do

As a Finance Manager you will execute and oversee EMG’s core finance operations, from daily transactions to monthly reporting, while managing and mentoring an experienced finance assistant. You will work closely with accounting and our current Finance Manager during onboarding. You are the point of contact for financial questions from across the organization. During the onboarding period, we ensure a thorough handover and guidance so that you can step into your role with confidence. Setting priorities and maintaining an overview is essential. For us, reliability and clarity are the foundation in this regard.

 Core responsibilities:

• Full-cycle financial administration: Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable and Purchase Ledger, including invoice processing, bank posting, reconciliations and supplier payments.
• Project administration and project-based cost tracking.
• Cash Flow & Credit Control Management.
• Payroll processing and salary administration.
• VAT & tax filings.
• Monthly reporting and management accounts for CEO and Board.
• Liaise with our external accountants, tax and legal advisors and insurance providers.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and annual planning.

What you bring

You are a self-starter who proactively manages your time and priorities, but you know when to collaborate or escalate when needed.

 Core requirements:

• HBO/University degree level education degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent.
• 4 - 6 years hands-on experience in finance roles; SME / professional services experience preferred. Experience in an international working environment is considered an advantage.
• Solid Dutch tax and legal understanding.
• Excel and accounting software skills combined with analytical skills.
• Well-developed inter-personal skillset.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills in English.

It is not a requirement to be able to speak Dutch within our organization.
