As the Pre-Claims Manager, you will play a critical role in protecting our interests across all shipbuilding projects. Your main goal will be to proactively collect and meticulously organize all relevant documentation and evidence from both internal and external parties. This essential groundwork will help substantiate claims for added value or provide a solid defense against any claims made against us, directly influencing the financial stability and successful completion of our complex maritime projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Take the lead in gathering all necessary documentation (e.g., variation orders, progress reports, communication logs, inspection records) from internal departments (Engineering, Production, Procurement, Project Management) as well as external partners (suppliers, subcontractors, clients). Foster and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate exchange of information. Review project documentation to identify potential claims or areas of concern, proactively collecting the supporting evidence. Design and implement efficient processes and systems to organize and store pre-claim documentation. Work closely with Legal, Commercial, and Project Management teams to evaluate the viability of potential claims or defenses. Offer guidance and training to project teams regarding the importance of detailed documentation and pre-claim management processes. Contribute to creating best practices and insights around claim prevention and management.
Functie-eisen
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Maritime Technology, Naval Architecture, Law, or Engineering.
At least 5 years of experience in the maritime shipbuilding or Defense sector.
In-depth knowledge of shipbuilding contracts, commercial terms, and project management principles.
Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish relationships at all levels.
Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and thoroughness.
Ability to assess complex information and draw well-founded conclusions.
Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Proficiency in Dutch is a plus.
Solid references, as a security screening will be part of the hiring process.
Permanent EU citizenship and passport are mandatory. Candidates with an EU (work) visa or those holding both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible due to requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
